We are currently looking for a Credit Officer on behalf of one of our clients, a private bank based in Geneva, for a 6-month fixed-term contract.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end credit underwriting process in close collaboration with Front Office teams.
- Structure and prepare complex credit requests for approval by the relevant decision-making authorities.
- Monitor Lombard facilities, Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratios and margin requirements, particularly in relation to derivative transactions.
- Assess collateral quality, oversee high-risk credit exposures and ensure compliance with internal credit policies.
- Validate loan drawdowns, cash transfers, securities transfers, bank guarantees and other credit-related operations.
- Act as a trusted partner to Relationship Managers by providing technical expertise on credit structuring, exception management and margin-related matters.
- Collaborate closely with the Credit Committee, Trading and Asset Management teams to ensure effective credit risk oversight.
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and operational efficiency.
- Support management reporting through the preparation of KPIs, statistics and credit-related dashboards.
Profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Credit function within a Swiss private bank, with solid exposure to Lombard lending.
- Proven experience managing complex credit transactions and collateralised financing structures.
- Strong knowledge of derivatives, OTC products, financial markets and private banking services.
- Excellent understanding of credit risk management principles and banking operations.
- Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Fluent in both French and English.
