On behalf of one of our clients, a well-established international bank based in Geneva, we are currently looking for a
Documentary Credit Specialist to join its Trade Finance team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the full lifecycle of documentary credits, including issuance, advising, confirmation, amendments, document examination and settlement
- Processing documentary collections and monitoring related transactions
- Handling the issuance and management of bank guarantees and counter-guarantees
- Reviewing and checking trade documents to ensure compliance with applicable rules and credit terms
- Identifying discrepancies and coordinating with clients, relationship managers and correspondent banks to resolve them
- Calculating commissions, fees, interest and foreign exchange elements related to transactions
- Supporting the structuring and execution of more complex trade finance transactions
- Ensuring accurate booking and proper follow-up of operations within the bank’s systems
Profile:
- Previous experience in Trade Finance / Documentary Credits within a banking environment
- Strong knowledge of UCP rules (Uniform Customs and Practice for Documentary Credits) and international trade finance practices
- Experience with bank guarantees and documentary collections is considered a strong asset
- Good understanding of operational and accounting aspects of trade finance transactions
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously
- Professional level of English
